The dark triad test, free. 14 questions on narcissism, Machiavellianism, and psychopathy reveal your dark triad score — and which of the three traits is most you.
The dark triad is a 2002 psychological framework that bundles three “dark” personality traits that often appear together: narcissism (grandiose self-image, need for admiration), Machiavellianism (manipulative, strategic, cynical), and psychopathy (low empathy, low guilt, impulsivity). Most people score low on all three. Some people score high on one and average on the others — that’s the more common pattern. The “pure dark triad” with high scores across all three is rare.
This is a 14-question screening, calibrated against the SD3 (Short Dark Triad) inventory researchers actually use. The result will tell you your overall dark triad score AND which of the three traits is your highest, with honest, non-pathologising explanations of what each actually means.
Two things at once: your overall score on a five-tier scale, and which of the three traits (if any) is elevated above the others. Because most people aren’t pure-anything — they’re slanted in one direction with the others moderate.
Fourteen short questions about how you actually behave, what you actually believe, and how you treat people. Pick what’s true, not what sounds best. Your highest-scoring archetype wins.
